McLaren Electronics has developed a number of data logging and telemetry systems for motorsport. This capability is increasingly applied outside motorsport for Health & Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS).

Data Loggers

A range of units are available – the majority run embedded processor based applications to enable intelligent data sampling and storage.

Connectivity

Motorsport applications typically use bespoke RF transmission and receiver devices to communicate from the car to the pit lane. This includes the following hardware:

Non motorsport applications are increasingly RF-agnostic connectivity utilizing a range of commercial off the shelf wired and wireless protocols:

• Wired: Ethernet, USB, SD-card
• Wireless: Wifi, WiMax, 3G, LTE.

These modules can be integrated into the data logger for a self-contained on-car system.
